Does anyone think that the nissan ecu will still have control over cold start even though its got no control ove the injectors?. Be apart of SAU Community by signing in or creating an account.

#WOLF 3D ECU MANUAL#
Ive already started searcing through a spare loom i had laying around and so far ive found all the injectors pins/wires off the Ecu harness plug and ive located the coil pin But with the wolfv4 installation manual it clearly states that u cannot plug the ECu directly to the coil. Has Anyone here Done this type of work before? if so please give me an insight as to what im expecting as i really dont wanna have to send it on a pick up to get it started.Ok. And Defect reasons as i really dont wanna have to swap wiring looms every time u go through regancy. My reaoning for doing this is that i still want retain factory cold start, air con, etc etc. Ok man cheers, hey what microfarads does cap have to be.Ok, As the Subject suggest im comptenplating installing my Wolf3d v4 into my Nanna spec S3 Executive.įair enough U say, But i want to beable to use the stock nissan loom, splice into the harness, connect my 400cc injectors and if i could the Coil!!!!.I will be using a brand spankin CAS cable as the nissan one are very fragile. Wolf recommend 60* as it give you a god scope for tuning, and hey we will never need any more than 60*!!! :dance:Ħ, turn off anything that relates to Coil Neg. This can be set anywhere you want as long as its matched up here. This give you 60* to play withĤ, Go into TRIGGER>TRIGGER DEG BTDC and set to 60*. This then give the ECU to ability to adjust timing.ġ, Disconnect the HI6 tacho output from ECU coil neg wire.Ģ, "ENGINE" configuration should be on 4Cyl/TrigCrankSingle/Inj2Bank/IgnDistģ, Bump up timing from 20*BTDC (or where ever you have it set) to 60*BTDC. So all you have done with the above is connect the ECU between the signal and the HI6. :bash:ĮCU IGNITION 1 (red ) - pin 31 > HI6 MAG. You know what your *MAG+* and *MAG-* are on the HI6 end, so mark these across onto the dizzy.ĭizzy + (pulse) > ECU TRIGGER IN 1 (brown/white) - pin 28ĭizzy - > ECU TRIGGER GROUND (blue/green) - pin 27 Right, firstly check on the dizzy to HI6 wiring AS IT IS NOW to get the polarity of the dizzy output.

Give me a call tonight when you finish work if you want. In either of the above cases your HI6 is doing the job that the stock ignitor would normally do. :no2: Chuck it in the bin.or light the stove! :y: Think of it this way - An ignitor is just a 'fast switching' EARTHING RELAY.

If you didn't use one, the full neg discharge of the coil would go through the ECU and blow it up. The only reason you need to use an ignitor in this setup is because the ECU pulls the coil to ground. In your case this ignitor would be the HI6 (instead of the M&W I'm using) which just happens to be CDI. Difference is the ECU can then advance or retard the outgoing ignition pulse to the ignitor. The ECU then still uses this pulse as an RPM reference to fire injectors. To run single pulse (ECU controlled) ignition setup - The reluctor pickup (magnet) is wired direct to the ECU (ground and trigger in 1 - pins 27 & 28), instead of the HI6. Running coil neg the ECU only really needs a pulse to tell it RPM, and fire injectors accordingly. You only need 1x ignitor, regardless of setup. Forget anything else it can do for the moment.
